People often ask what inspires the content in my paintings. I usually paint three common themes: One is that the figures in my paintings are usually missing a sensory organ (missing an eye or ears or a mouth) but they are still connecting and engaging with one another and the world. A second theme depicts outsiders looking in or seeking to be included, which is pretty easy to see in many of my paintings, and a third theme embraces social justice and injustice.
